Are you dealing with anxiety or something you must work through?
So, I started a new book; Building A Non-Anxious Life, By Dr. John Delony, who I was able to see at the National Maxwell Conference in March. I have not yet finished it, but it has given me direction with my behavior and mindset in a variety of situations. I have never prescribed to the thought of having anxiety. I am from the suck it up buttercup generation, where we deal with stuff and move on. I have come to understand that I may have some form of anxiety. Anxiety is real, we all have to some extent and each of us must deal with it in our own way. The purpose of this post is to get you to reflect on what you are dealing with, anxiety or everyday frustrations?
A variety of situations cause us to experience anxiousness. For me, the biggest anxiety inducer is work. Usually, I have created a self-prescribed view of how others see me or how they will judge me. Whatever situation you deal with, there will be other individuals involved whose attitudes or behavior may cause us to feel anxious. We must also consider that we have people who calm our anxiety and bring us back to reality. All of us must take steps to deal with those anxious moments and manage them the best we can. Finding what works for you may take a while but you should explore the things that calm you and redirect the anxiousness. Of course, if you have severe anxiety, you should consult a professional who will meet your needs.
What situations have you identified that cause you to feel anxious?
Who causes you to feel anxious and who redirects that anxiety?
What steps have you identified that help you get through your anxious moments?
Occasionally, a book makes an unexpected impact on my life. Dr. Delony’s book appears to be just one of those books. We all experience anxiousness in our lives. I hope you are managing those feelings and moving through life efficiently, reaching your goals despite any anxiety you may be experiencing. Thank you for checking in this week and please leave a comment below that will contribute to this conversation. Have a happy 4th of July!
