The Leader’s Task

What are you doing to make the greatest impact today?

This week I finished with one of my Mastermind groups on The 15 Invaluable Laws of Growth by John C. Maxwell. We covered the last two laws: The Law of Expansion and The Law of Contribution. These two laws are all about how our growth helps others. Our group discussed the importance of extending our thoughts and actions. This will contribute to improvements of our organization. This Mastermind group gathered to grow as individuals, and to make our organization and teams better.

How we see ourselves and the belief in our abilities is so important, but those thoughts are useless if we fail to take any steps towards our goals. The most important goal for all leaders should be building up their teams. These people will inevitably take on leadership that will create a better organization for the future. So, our actions and mindsets must be focused on developing not only our growth but that of others too. As we grow or improve ourselves, our thoughts become better; we see alternative paths for success. All this trickles through our organizations, the people see the importance of becoming better or meeting goals. In the end, we have created an environment where individual improvements are appreciated and sought out.

Do your thoughts and actions align to your goals, and that of others?

How could you assign actions from those thoughts to meet expectations or goals?

How will self-improvement choices benefit others in your organization?

Our focus on making individual improvements was an intentional act of helping others get better. This starts with looking within ourselves for areas to improve. When we seek to expand our knowledge and contribute to a team, everyone becomes a better version of themselves. I cannot explain these laws as articulately as Mr. Maxwell; I can only share some of my thoughts. Thanks for checking out this week’s post from Leading Conversations. I wish you well this week, as you grow and lead your teams.
