How are you allowing for the space and time necessary for your growth?
I find myself sitting in my recliner doing absolutely nothing but wasting time, on occasion. Probably not what you may expect in a blog about personal development and growth. However, I would argue that I am not perfect, nor do I have all the answers. I am a student of growth and development, like everyone. From time to time, I find myself checking my behaviors to see if they align with my goals and dreams. Sometimes, I fall short of those expectations I have set for myself. My hope is that my experience will motivate others to develop a plan for working on their goals and dreams.
Our creativity is at a peak during various moments of our day. We may be more focused in the mornings, by getting up early to avoid the day’s distractions. This takes dedication for those who enjoy sleeping in. Afternoons or evenings are filled with normal routines, such as work or family time that may hinder the time necessary to focus of individual goals. Some people can work late into the night by burning the midnight oil, as they work through their goals. It will take time to find what works for you, and it may vary from day to day.
The location is another variable that can affect our ability to focus on our dreams and goals. If you have a family, finding space dedicated just for you will be a challenge. Do you need quite office-like space, or will you work better at the local coffee shop? Is an outside space better for you? Do you need the noise from the community or is music your groove for creativity? The right location can be the catalyst to your creativity and focus, for you to do the work needed.
An effective method of scheduling puts us in line to meet the necessary steps in our goals. We can set goals but if we fail to put the time needed on our schedules, we are not effective in our pursuit. Whether you are more focused in the mornings, evenings, or late nights, set time for yourself to explore your thoughts and ideas in a specific place. Nothing becomes reality if we don’t dedicate time to specific tasks needed for our goal chasing.
What time of the day have you found yourself able to focus on goals?
What locations are necessary for you to explore your dreams?
What does your schedule say about your dedication to developing yourself?
The topic of time and space has been part of many conversational pieces in my blogs. The fact that I bring it up again should remind you that creating these are important and always something we must continue to focus on. Where will you find space and time for your creative juices to flow? Hope you can schedule some time for you this week. Please leave a comment below that will contribute to this conversation.
