How can we see past roadblocks and frustration to find the correct path?
I am not great with technology, especially when it doesn’t work when I want it to. Most recently my blog site called Leading Conversations, was not connecting with my social sites. This frustrated me. I called support, who tried to offer me another paid service that could assist me. I was even more frustrated at this offer, as I already pay a lot to keep my site up to speed and safe. It was my wife who said I should change something, so I did. I took that frustration, and turned it into an opportunity to grow and become better. It has forced me to evaluate my dream and take a better path towards success, and I am excited again.
Chasing our dreams takes a lot of evaluation and rethinking the possibilities. As we work within our plans to achieve something, we grow complacent and we lose that new feeling, or enthusiasm. Losing our focus and energy is quite common. Think of the many New Year’s Resolutions that fail quickly. This is the same concept with our dreams or goals. To effectively chase and achieve our dreams, we must stay focused and bring the energy every day!
What does it mean to remain focused or bring energy each day? It means our dreams and goals must be part of our everyday plans or routines. It also means we must remain excited about that dream, which can be achieved through sharing it with others or making it a part of our daily conversations. The words we speak to ourselves are just as important. We must adequately evaluate the path of steps we are taking to achieve our goals, and it starts with the words we say about our efforts.
Once we understand why our goals or dreams lost their luster, and how we can renew our excitement, we must move ahead with a solid plan. We have established the path we must follow, and it is time to hit the gas. Our goals grow when we win at the day-to-day steps, we then become more successful. Our small win compounds into bigger wins, and before we know it, we have achieved the goal or fulfilled a dream. This allows us to move forward in our personal growth, and chase new dreams. So, are you ready to get after it today?
How have you lost interest in previous dreams or goals?
How can you reinvent your current goals?
How will you demonstrate your commitment to the dream?
Have you lost direction or enthusiasm with a dream or goal? If so, don’t get frustrated just yet. Get out a pen and paper, write down everything to unpack your dreams. Let that internal dialogue show you the path you need to get on and what will become your first steps. Hope you enjoyed this post, and I hope you’re able to get perspective on those dreams by asking yourself targeted questions. Have a great week!
