What experiences bring clarity to your interests and passions?
I would like to say that when I am dealing with life or my current situation, I have a profound clarity of my intended direction. This is not always the case. There is a feeling of joy and rejuvenation in my heart this Easter. I am looking for new experiences that will make me whole and enjoy life. It could also be called, passion. What, in this moment gives you passion? I have watched my wife gain a renewed passion for teaching and learning this year. She has found excitement and joy as she has learned more about Dyslexia in students. There is little offered in many schools for dyslexic students. Only recently has the state acknowledged this learning disability and defined it. My wife has researched this learning disability and has sought out experts in their field on this topic. She has attended webinars on the topic, communicated with individuals for assistance and has recently found out there is college course work she could pursue, to assess and diagnose Dyslexia. It was nice to see passion ignite in someone’s eyes.
A good friend shared with me recently that when she was still working in education, she was also pursuing a coaching/ consulting opportunity for the future. She is now a successful coach and consultant in Duluth, MN. I too, am interested in this process, but I lack a clear direction or if I intend to coach or be a consultant one day. To my knowledge, the need for Life Coaches is not prevalent in my area. For most of the people who know me, understand that I am always seeking improvement and that I like opportunities that bring chances for me and other to improve. We do not always know our direction, but if we dabble in experiences that bring our passions forward, we may find our direction. Experiences bring clarity to our interests and reinvigorates our passions and desires. This is what I witnessed when my wife investigated the Dyslexia opportunities. It is appropriate to look for events or experiences that you find interesting. Some might believe that too many experiences could cause you to feel overwhelmed or confused. More life experiences can give you a better understanding of what you are passionate about and what is a waste of your time. Seek more experiences you find interesting even though you are unsure of what it could offer you and those around you.
Encouragement is so important to self-development. I am fortunate to have a wife who has always been my biggest cheerleader. I also have friends who encouraged me and pushed me to keep seeking my version of clarity. A big shoutout to my Minnesota peeps! We have to offer encouragement to the people in our lives. Honestly, when we have people in our corner pushing us, we can achieve more. It is important that we as leaders offer this encouragement to others because it can build leaders within our organizations and improve the organization at the same time. It would be inappropriate of me to fail to remind you that you should also be encouraging yourself. We must control the voices inside our heads to remain positive and confident.
What experiences are you currently seeking to improve yourself?
How are your experiences reigniting your interests or passions?
Who have you surrounded yourself with for encouragement?
Who in your life are you cheering for and encouraging?
This week I was reminded to assess my passions and find experiences that help me find clarity. We may not know what we desire at any given moment but doing things we enjoy will help us move forward and forever find our true happiness. I look forward to you comments below and I hope you have a great week exploring you interests, as you develop your passions.
