What makes you excited about your life?
I am so jacked-up about this week’s post! I have been a fan of John Maxwell for so long. Those of you who know me are aware of this. I have joined The John Maxwell Team recently and now I have access to the team platform. There is an enormous amount of content at my fingertips that will allow me to grow exponentially. In the future, I could use this content to help others grow and improve by teaching the methods of the Maxwell Team. I am most excited about learning and growing myself. This is what got me thinking about this post. Where are we finding our energy? What makes us excited or overjoyed about our day?
Too often we lose focus on the things that make us excited about our work life and personal life. I am crazy about books and could literally spend an entire day in a bookstore. Books make me happy and excited. We must ask ourselves whether the topic of our excitement ties into our Purpose. Imagine if we all invested in the avenues that make us excited? Take these avenues and run with them as part of our careers. It has been said, find your passion or purpose and you will never work a day in your life. There is some truth to this thought. Wake up each day and schedule the items that bring joy and energy to your life. Take the time needed to make these moments a priority and act on scheduling them on a regular basis.
Helping others is another avenue that brings absolute joy to our lives. Educationally speaking, this is engrained in our DNA. The reason we go into the field of education, is to help students. The focus of my John Maxwell path I will be taking is to grow others. When we help others and value others, joy follows. Another person I follow is Tony Robbins. Much of what he shares is helping others and I know he adds to others’ lives through volunteering. Volunteering is another path we can seek locally to add joy or passion to our lives. This is a great investment in your community, as well as yourself.
Hobby specific events and time with our children or families can also bring happiness and joy to our lives. We get excited about things we enjoy doing. Our hobbies give us an outlet that reduces stress and allows us to be creative. Others find their energy and joy within their spiritual life. These avenues can make us feel truly purposeful and jacked-up. We must find time for these valuable opportunities.
Can you accurately describe your life’s purpose?
Where can you volunteer in your community?
What outlets do you use that bring you joy?
We all have that one thing that gets us amped-up. Something that when we are engaged in it, we experience great joy. In most cases this will relate to our life’s purpose. If we are not doing things that make us excited, then we are not truly living a fulfilled life. I hope you are engaging in these activities and if you are not, I hope you are searching for that one thing that brings you joy. Thank you so much for checking out this week’s post, I hope your week is full of joyful activities.
