What would you like to do next?
Have you made it, succeeded beyond what you imagined, or do you have more to do? I have discovered that making it and succeeding has no endgame.Everything I have seen on succeeding says that our goals should not be a destination, but a journey. Even when we think we are too old to chase something new, which is a thought that has entered my mind in recent months. This very thought is the reason I follow John Maxwell. I would say that everything he puts out on leadership discusses the journey to where you want to go and not the idea of a destination. It all comes down to improving ourselves. So, what ideas are you kicking around in that head of yours? Do you have the courage to chase them?
Many times, people have interests that they want to dive into and explore. In more recent years people are often engaged in a side hustle. Much of the older generation started a career or got a job and they became that. I’m a teacher, banker, contractor, or whatever. People from all age groups and upbringings have an interest in something beyond the career path they chose. We should be encouraging ourselves and one another to chase what interests us. We will try things and experience success and failures. The key is to never stop chasing what interests us. In many scenarios our interests are often right in front of us and part of our current roles. When we discover a path, we wish to go down, we must decide on the steps that are necessary to achieve our goal and expand our interest. We must chase down this path and be intentional in our actions of that interesting endeavor. Often, we start something, we lose interest quickly, and then that dream fails. Whatever your interests are, keep discovering what is next, and you might just find something more to do.
What are you interested in that could become your side hustle?
How could you manage the roadblocks or setbacks?
Once you have found your next thing, what must you do first?
My interest in coaching and speaking has continued to develop over time. I have not found the correct path yet, but I will continue to enjoy the journey to find what is next for me. I hope you are exploring the interests you have, and I hope you discover something amazing that will enrich your life and the lives of those around you.
