How can we make decisions, knowing they may be wrong and remain happy?
Life does not always make sense. I imagine people looking in from the outside may think my life path is not the norm. Most people find their place in the world, raise a family, work, and live in one or two locations over the course of their lives. It is important to look at our lives as an adventure; take that leap, buy that nice vehicle, buy that house, take a vacation. This is not an excuse to live irresponsible and spend money we don’t have. This is about having a little fun making decisions that give you and your loved one’s great experiences. Will my family have positive memories and experiences because of how we lived a life of adventure? I hope so.
Know what makes you happy, yet understand that your happiness cannot be tied to one thing or one person. Only we can determine what happiness is in our lives as we make decisions and follow our own paths. It is always wise to make the best decision possible but sometimes there is never a defined, right way. We are left with the results of our decisions, which leads to additional decisions to be made. A cycle of good and bad decisions the culminate into a wonderful life full of adventure and happiness.
Push your boundaries and take chances. As we consider the decisions, we may weigh the pros and cons and the ripple effect when we choose a direction. We may be guarded or skeptical of our next moves to the point of inaction. Considering all options of a decision is particularly important, because when we fail to look at all avenues, we could miss an opportunity. One option may be more appealing to us, and another option may be something we haven’t even thought would work for us; therefore, we pass it by with little thought to how it may be a better option. That house purchase may appear as a bad decision, or a new job may appear as miscalculation in judgement. Who knows? It could be the next greatest adventure in your life.
Happiness is not a destination we come to; it is a way of life. Our happiness must be tied to a process. Each day, we come to many decisions which at times, are not fun to make and yet we still must live a happy life. Attention to our decisions, which are related to our values or beliefs, are the keys to what makes us happy. The search for great decision making and being happy with them is an intentional act.
Keep your eyes on the horizon, and track the trajectory of life’s path. Your next big decision could alter your life. A limiting thought is it may cause frustration and a better thought is it could be the next best adventure in your life. Our mindset must be solid because there are always decisions to be made.
What makes you genuinely happy and gives you the feeling of fulfillment?
What options of a current situation haven’t you considered and why?
Is your happiness tied to a destination or process in life?
What decision is weighing on your mind today and what scares you about it?
When I was pondering the decision processes in my life, I came to the realization that I must jump on. Decisions must be made, and we cannot weigh the pros and cons until the day we die. At some point decide on a path, deal with the results and ramifications. I hope you have a clear idea of the decisions you need to make, and you are happy with the results.
