Avoiding Derailment

Are outside sources blocking your path and causing stress?

It’s been a difficult couple of weeks. I found myself getting stressed and it occurred to me that I was allowing the energy, behavior, and attitudes of others to dictate my energy and mindset. I felt derailed and out of control at times. It was difficult, but it forced me to take a pause and look at things differently. That pause helped me to get a better perspective and see myself working through those outside sources, which were causing my stress.

Stress can sneak up on us quickly and has been proven to cause major health concerns. When we allow others to act or speak poorly in our presence, we get caught up in the drama which causes stress. It is an easy trap to fall into, as we lose sight of our own expectations for ourselves. It starts with lending a sympathetic ear to someone sharing their frustrations. We wish to help others but risk engaging in actions or thinking like them. Though it’s hard, we must remain confident in ourselves and stay true to our beliefs. Our actions must align to our core values. This is how we stay positive and overcome any stress that tries to derail us.

Do you allow negative behavior and energy of others to infiltrate your mind?

How have you contributed to the stressful feelings you feel?

How can reverting to your beliefs help you stay in the right frame of mind?

We will have difficult days but if we keep everything in perspective the stress won’t win the day. We all battle the daily problems, and we win when we remain true to the expectations for ourselves. I hope you can remain on track this week and would love to hear your perspective. Please leave a comment below that will contribute to this conversation.
