Anxious Beginnings

What are you anxious about this New Year, and what is your growth plan?

Whether you agree with having a New Year’s Resolution or not, it is ok to be excited or anxious about the new year. It is important to understand the anxiousness we feel can be both positive and negative. We must successfully win the battle between our successes and failures. This will allow us to move on and evolve as leaders of our organizations or families. It should also be said that getting anxious and excited about new goals or achievements is good for our development as leaders. We should embrace the New Year anxiousness we feel but we better have a plan at managing it, getting the most benefits of our new goals or dreams.

The New Year can be an exciting time and often utilized as a deadline for goals we hope to achieve. It is important to minimize any negativity or stressors that surround our work-life balance as we pursue those goals. Ultimately, we will show growth in an area of our lives or fail to meet expectations, all of which cause us to reconsider our goals. As a new year begins, it is important to have a plan. Such as, how we manage setbacks or even better than expected results. What daily habits are you doing each day that will ensure you achieve the goals you are working towards? Our growth depends on what we choose to do each day. Our plans are only successful when we have important steppingstones or benchmarks that must be met. When we meet these important steps, our goals will become a reality.

How are you minimizing the worries and anxiousness surrounding your goals?

What is your growth plan for the coming year?

What benchmarks are in place that will hold you accountable for your goals?

Anxiousness, worry, excitement, and fear are all realities of chasing our goals. When we have a vision of our goals, benchmarks to be measured, and the ability to manage stressors, we can enjoy the successes of a new year. I wish you the best of New Year. I hope everything you have planned and are wishing for comes true. Thanks for checking out this post and please leave a comment below that will contribute to this conversation.
