Where are you winning, and are you celebrating each day?
Recently, I had a conversation with a good friend and employee. I shared how I was acknowledging my wins in my journal each day. This got us talking about seeing the wins we make every day. We were experiencing a difficult day, when everything seemed to not be right, and issues kept popping up. So, I asked what went well or exceptional good that day. This person shared some tasks she was able to cross off her list which she was happy about. That is a win! Our wins do not always have to be huge tasks or initiatives. Sometimes they are small and insignificant, and that is why we fail to acknowledge them.
As we accomplish our tasks, we create wins. Our wins then build upon one another, and we experience success. As we experience this success, we begin to build momentum. With momentum we become more confident in our day and abilities. It is so important to acknowledge even the smallest wins. Our workdays are so busy that we stop seeing the great things occurring around us and at times only see the negative things. Social-emotional health has been shared often in our society in recent years. We must be responsible for our own mental state of mind. We are surrounded by many negative situations and people and by celebrating our little wins we can offset some of those negative internal feelings.
When we win, so do others! This is so true if you are leading an organization. We all have people we work with that do some of our workload, and make sure we hit deadlines and reach organizational goals. These individuals are winning in their day and in return are creating wins for the leaders as well as the organizations. Some of these tasks get missed or unseen by most of the staff. If you are that individual, you must purposely acknowledge your daily wins just to keep sane. I have people who assist me and keep me on point, who I call my angels. They do so much behind the sense that most people will never see, and I appreciate them so much. We should all have individuals in our lives who help us win at life and work.
Can you see how you won or succeeded each day?
Who are the angels you your life that allow you to win the day?
How are you recording your wins?
Are you helping others see their daily wins?
We are winning at life, but sometimes we forget to remember we are winners! We must record our daily wins and remember to appreciate our efforts. This post is dedicated to a few of my angels who help keep me in the winner’s bracket. They know who they are! Thanks for checking out this week’s post and I hope you celebrate some wins this week.
